San Francisco Fashion

The San Francisco Fashion Center in San Francisco, CA is a 800,000 sq ft, six-story apparel trade mart as originally designed. It has since been converted into office space. Randy performed 3D analyses for gravity and seismic loads on 25,000 square foot clear-spanning steel skylight over atrium. Designed all structural steel trusses, connecting members and metal deck diaphragms of the skylight.

For the high seismicity of San Fransisco, Randy performed 2D analyses for seismic loading of 3/K displacement on flat-plate/column frame system. Designed all reinforced concrete columns and post-tensioned flat-plate slabs for the combined effects of gravity and seismic loads. Designed light-gage metal framing and composite deck for elevated platforms and stage.
